Coveney-Gate Scandal – Fine Gael’s Simon Coveney still in his Ministerial position after admitting a job was “developed” and Zappone was the only person considered for the position

As the corporate media continue to focus on the Merrion Hotel party that Zappone arranged, questions are being asked about the role that the Fine Gael Minister, Simon Coveney played in the creation of the job that was offered only to Catherine Zappone.

WorldNews reported that Minister for Foreign Affairs Simon Coveney (FG) said last week that Zappone was involved in Ireland’s successful bid to become a member of the UN Security Council and that she subsequently told him if there was “anything she could do” on the council she would be interested.

Coveney said the role was “developed” by his department and he acknowledged that no other candidate was considered for the position.
Coveney remains in his Ministerial job but the scandal continues to rumble on.

Zappone may be out of Irish politics (for now) but Coveney remains with serious questions to answer. Where is the opposition and corporate media on Coveney’s role in this appointment scandal?
