Speaking on Claire Byrne Live, Fine Gael’s Simon Coveney said that just one week ago, no one thought we’d have to cancel the St Patrick’s Day parade – now every parade across the country is cancelled.
Pushed on why schools and colleges aren’t closed, Coveney said that it may happen if the public health advice says we need to do so.
He said that may happen in the coming days or weeks if the spread of coronavirus gets worse. He said:
“We will continue to apply appropriate measures”, in relation to closing schools and colleges.
