A new study has shown that a low-cost anti-depressant drug might reduce severe coronavirus symptoms by almost a third.
The study, carried out in Brazil, suggests that Luvox, a drug commonly prescribed to treat obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and depression, might be an effective treatment for Covid-19. The drug was tested in a 1,500-patient trial. Those who took the drug were demonstrated to be far less likely to have severe symptoms than the placebo cohort.
A 10-course of Luvox costs about $4, far less than the ‘official’ treatment with vaccines -which prevent neither infection, transmission, or severe symptoms-, which go for about 20e per jab.
