Caretaker Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has reiterated that the 2m social distancing guidelines will remain in effect during the first phase of lockdown easing.
Mr. Varadkar was addressing some comments by ministers who said that the World Health Organization (WHO) states that 1m separation is enough.
A total of 1,592 people have now died from Covid-19-related causes in Ireland so far.
