Gardai will set up checkpoints around Kildare, Laois, and Offaly today to ensure compliance with the travel ban.
It is understood that Gardai will be given ‘powers’ to enforce the lockdown.
The local lockdown is scheduled to last two weeks, but could be extended, depending on the outbreak’s evolution.
