Covid-19: Construction industry given 48 hours to comply with social distancing guidelines




After much uproar from construction workers that their health was in danger for having to keep going to work dispute the widespread outbreak of covid-19, the government have moved to possibly close down some sites that aren’t being compliant with guidelines.

Many people are up in arms at the fact that construction workers are still on site, some in very dangerous situations where social-isolating is almost impossible.

Various videos have emerged on social media showing packed building sites with workers practically on top of each other.

Some unions have voiced their concerns over the conditions while opposing views claim that their work is an essential service to society.

The government announced that the construction industry have been given 48 hours to comply with regulations and guidelines of social distancing provided by the HSE.
