The novel coronavirus ‘might never go away,’ according to the World Health Organization (WHO).
The grim warning comes as the number of cases has surpassed 4.3m worldwide, with almost 300k deaths.
WHO experts say that the situation with Covid-19 might become similar to other viruses like HIV, where the disease is always present but can be managed. This depends on a vaccine or other remedy for Covid-19 being found, of course.
If no effective vaccine is produced, however, Covid-19 might become a latent threat.
