Debenhams has announced the loss of a further 2,500 jobs across the UK.
The embattled retailer has already shed 1,000 jobs in the UK, and around 1,200 in Ireland due to poor sales, compounded by the pandemic’s effects.
The move is a further blow to the UK’s retail environment, which has been in decline for some years.
