Delta Air Lines has posted its worst financial results for over a decade as the Covid-19 pandemic continues to worsen across the US.
A spokesperson for the company said that the airlines has lost $2.8 billion, excluding ‘special items’ (sports equipment, medical supplies, wheelchairs, etc.) Including those items, Delta’s net loss rises to $5.7 billion, which is close to its total loss of $6bn back in 2008 , following the airline’s bankruptcy process.
The airline had planned to add 1,000 flights to its August schedule, but that’s now not going to happen amidst plunging bookings and profits.
