British health authorities are fearing a dramatic resurgence of coronavirus across the UK as thousands of people defy restrictions and flock to parks and other leisure areas over the weekend.
There were scenes of apparent normality across the UK as the good weather drew people out in their droves. The British coast guard service had to deal with as many as 97 incidents, for example, which represents a 54% increase over the April average.
London parks were also thronged with people, many of whom carrying pizzas, drinks, and other items.
Other countries like Germany and South Korea had seen a spike in Covid-19 infections after easing restrictions.
