Covid-19: Former Taoiseach Leo Varadkar says that a second lockdown ‘might be necessary’

Former Taoiseach appointee and current Tanaiste Leo Varadkar has hinted that a second lockdown ‘might be necessary’ to curb the spread of Covid-19.

The disease is currently rampaging across the country, with over 1,000 new cases declared on Saturday alone.

HSE Paul Reid seconded this sentiment by saying that the situation is deteriorating quickly.
