Former Taoiseach appointee and current Tanaiste Leo Varadkar has said that a fourth coronavirus wave in Ireland does not necessarily mean another lockdown.
But Mr. Varadkar’s words are somewhat at odds with comments made by Ireland’s Chief Medical Officer Dr. Tony Holohan saying that further restrictions could not be ruled out, if and when another wave of the virus hits.
The National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET) recently warned that Ireland could see up to 2,000 new deaths over the coming months as the Delta variant becomes predominant in the country.
