The Government have called on employers to pay their staff at least €203 per week if they are unable to trade during the Coronavirus.
In an announcement the Department of Social Protection have asked that employers pay at least €203 per week to their employees if they are unable to enact social distancing.
Social Protection Minister Regina Doherty has said that that employers can reclaim refunds from the Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection.
Doherty says the Government hope that employers will make payments so that employees don’t have to make a formal request for jobseekers allowance.
