Covid-19: ‘Half of Ireland’s restaurants’ facing permanent closure, according to restaurant association

‘Half of Ireland’s restaurants’ are facing permanent closure, according to a restaurant association.

The Restaurants Association of Ireland (RAI) said that many establishments will not recover after the lockdown is lifted, and is calling for the current VAT rates of 9% to remain in place until at least 2025.

The association is also calling for a waiver of commercial rates until the end of 2021 at least.
