India has set a new grim pandemic record, after registering over 400,000 new cases in a 24h period.
Official figures say that there were 401,993 new cases confirmed on Friday, though authorities fear the true figure is likely far higher.
According to local health sources, the pandemic has killed 211,853 people across India so far, though again the true number is probably many multiples of that.
