Irish health authorities have confirmed just over 1,700 new coronavirus cases over the past 24h.
Official figures say that there have been 1,725 new infections confirmed in that period of time.
Health authorities have also said that there currently are 473 people with severe Covid-19-related disease across Irish hospitals today.
