Irish health authorities have confirmed just under 2,550 new coronavirus cases over the past 24h.
Official figures say that there have been 2,549 new infections confirmed in that period of time.
In light of the massive rise in cases over the past few weeks despite the rollout of the vaccine, Ireland’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Tony Holohan, was recently forced to admit that vaccines are ‘not performing as well as hoped.’
