Irish health authorities have reported just over 4,600 new coronavirus cases over the past 24h.
Official figures say that there have been 4,620 new infections confirmed in that period of time.
Health authorities have also said that there are 571 people with severe Covid-19-induced disease across Irish hospitals.
It emerged recently that the vast majority of people in hospital is fully vaccinated.
