Irish health authorities have reported just under 2,000 new coronavirus infections over the past 24h.
Official figures say that there have been 1,963 new cases confirmed in that period of time.
Health authorities have also confirmed that there currently are 500 with severe coronavirus disease across Irish hospitals. It is unclear how many of these were fully vaccinated.
