Many areas across the east, south East, and parts of the southwest of England will be placed in Tier 4 on Boxing Day in a last-ditch attempt to curb the spread of coronavirus.
The areas in question are Sussex, Oxfordshire, Suffolk, Norfolk, Cambridgeshire, those parts of Essex currently not in Tier 4, Waverley in Surrey, and Hampshire, with the exception of the New Forest.
These areas will be added to those already in Tier4, which is the most severe lockdown status in the UK.
