Covid-19: Minister for Health has given the go ahead for booster coronavirus shots for healthcare workers

The Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly has given the go ahead for booster coronavirus shots for healthcare workers.

According to the minister, he was following advice given by the National Immunisation Advisory Committee (NIAC).

The agency has also said that vaccine brands can be mixed, regardless of which vaccines were initially given.

It is unclear how many ‘booster’ shots will be required for an individual to be ‘fully’ vaccinated, since the first two shots appear to have achieved little.
