A new inflammatory disease thought to be linked with Covid-19 is causing concern in Ireland, after no fewer than 230 cases were detected in some European countries.
The symptoms resemble that of Kawasaki disease, an illness that usually affects young children in Asian countries.
Doctors here have been warned to be on alert for children presenting with rare or unusual symptoms such as reddened eyes, high fever, and inflammation of limbs.
Though a link between Covid-19 and the new disease has not been conclusively established, most scientists believe there is a connection between the two.
