Thinking of flushing the toilet after using it? Think again, as you might be helping to spread the deadly coronavirus, according to a new study.
The paper, published in the Physics of Fluids journal, suggests that infected people who flush their toilet could spread the virus in the droplets of water that splash around during the flushing process.
This could have implications in public bathrooms inside restaurants, shopping centres, and other similar facilities.
People are now being recommended to close the lid before flushing to keep the virus trapped inside, but many countries -including the US- do not provide toilet lids in public bathrooms, which may pose a problem going forward.
