The National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET) is to meet on Monday to discuss the course of the pandemic, and what to do beyond April 5.
The daily number of infections in Ireland has not decreased at the expected rate, so there’s a strong likelihood that no restrictions will be lifted.
It is understood that the outcome of the meeting will be made public on Tuesday.
