The Department of Foreign Affairs has recommended against traveling to northern Italy unless completely necessary.
The advice comes in the wake of a worsening coronavirus outbreak in the region.
The Italian Government has isolated a number of towns across the Lombardy, Veneto, Piedmont and Emilia-Romagna regions in an effort to curtail the spread of the disease.
