COVID-19 outbreak: South Korea reports large increase of coronavirus infections as the country’s hospitals struggle to cope with the influx of patients




South Korea has reported a large increase of coronavirus infections, with 516 new cases confirmed over the past number of days.

Most infections are concentrated around Daegu, the country’s fourth-largest city. Large crowds of people were reportedly seen waiting for hospital beds as medical authorities struggle to cope with the situation.

South Korea has 5,328 verified cases of coronavirus, with no fewer than 32 deaths so far.
