An Oxfam spokesperson has said that post-pandemic famine could kill more people than coronavirus itself.
The charity estimates that around 12.2m people could be pushed to starvation throughout 2020 and beyond, as Covid-19 disrupts international aid and food supplies.
The dire prediction comes as Covid-19 cases officially surpass 12m worldwide, with almost 550,000 deaths recorded. Experts believe the true figures are far higher.
