The United States and Brazil lead the world in terms of Covid-19-related fatalities, largely due to the ineptitude of their respective leaders -Donald Trump and Jair Bolsonaro respectively- during the early months of the crisis.
Health authorities fear that the true death toll is probably far higher than 5m.
