People receiving the Pandemic Unemployment Payment (PUP) might be in line for an increase over the coming weeks.
It is understood that there are proposals to increase the payment by €28 per week as fuel allowance.
Tens of thousands more people have joined the PUP scheme in recent days following the closure of non-essential retail stores and other facilities.
