The Pandemic Unemployment Scheme (PUP) will be gradually phased out as the economy reopens, according to the Government.
The scheme, which is currently due to end on June 30, is likely to see changes in the rates of pay, but not cut altogether right away.
According to official figures, fewer than 400,000 people are now receiving the payment.
