Covid-19: Ride-share firm Uber eliminates 3,700 jobs amidst huge slump in demand




Ride-share firm Uber has reportedly shed up to 3,700 jobs, amidst a significant slump in demand.

Uber’s boss, Dara Khosrowshahi, has announced that he will forfeit his base salary until the end of 2020 at least.

Uber is the latest big name to announce huge job cuts, after British Airways said that 12,000 jobs were to go, Airbnb is laying off up to 1,900 workers, and General Electric confirmed that as many as 13,000 people working in its aviation branch might lose their jobs.
