Russia is reporting a record high number of daily coronavirus cases.
Official figures say that there have been 37,930 new infections detected over the last 24h, the highest daily figure since the start of the pandemic.
Health authorities there announced 1,069 new Covid-19-related deaths, the second-highest since Covid-19 first struck in Russia.
