Covid-19: Social distancing likely to be enforced across some classrooms when schools reopen later this year

Social distancing is likely to be enforced across some classrooms when schools reopen later this year.

Pupils from third class upwards will be asked to maintain a one-metre distance while in class. The idea of ‘pods’ (small groups of students remaining together all the time) has also been proposed.

Schools are expected to reopen late in August for the new academic year, but social distancing and other safety measures are likely to be in place for some time.
