Covid-19: Third lockdown all but confirmed, as Ireland’s coronavirus situation worsens

A third lockdown is all but confirmed, as Ireland’s coronavirus situation worsens significantly.

Taoiseach appointee Micheal Martin has now confirmed that Ireland will plunge into a ‘gradual’ lockdown from Christmas Eve.

Gastropubs, restaurants, hairdressers, and cinemas will be close from December 24, while an inter-county travel ban will be enforced at midnight on December 27.

The Covid-19 situation has now deteriorated to the point where it is expected that over 900 new cases will be confirmed later today.
