The current travel ban from Britain and South Africa has been extended by 48h, and the Government has hinted that it might be extended further.
The original ban was due to end tomorrow, January 6th, but it will now remain in place for a further 48h.
Mutant strains of the Covid-19 virus have been detected in both countries.
