The UK has reported over 3,000 new coronavirus cases over the last 24h.
Official figures say that there were 3,180 new infections confirmed in that period of time.
The last time there were this many daily new cases was on April 12 last, prompting fears that the coronavirus situation might be quickly worsening across the country again.
Health authorities also reported nine additional Covid-19-related deaths.
