There was some positive news on the Covid-19 vaccine front today as the HSE’s Chief Clinical Officer Dr Colm Henry has said that there has been a drop in cases in healthcare workers and people living in long term residential care facilities.
Speaking at a HSE briefing, Dr Henry said that there has been a significant drop in the number of cases being reported and figures amongst those cohorts are continuing to fall.
Henry also told reporters that the significant fall in cases cannot be attributed to community transmission alone.
Announcing figures Dr Henry said that the number of cases In healthcare workers has fallen to 91 last week from 1,000 in early January.
The Chief Clinical Officer also asked that the number of cases in longterm residential care facilities had fallen from 482 on February 14th to 91 last week.
