Covid-19: Virgin Atlantic will cut over 3,000 jobs in a desperate bid for survival

Virgin Atlantic has announced that it will cut over 3,000 jobs in a desperate attempt to avoid bankruptcy.

The airline, which is part of Sir Richard Branson’s larger Virgin Group, has struggled financially in recent times, a plight exacerbated by the effects of Covid-19 on air travel.

Virgin Atlantic’s fleet will be reduced from 43 to 36 aircraft, and a total of 3,150 jobs are to be lost.
