Two heavy cranes collapsed earlier on this afternoon while carrying out restoration work on a bridge in the Dutch city Alphen aan den Rijn.
The cranes were hoisting a new bridge section when suddenly began listing and then toppled over a row of houses across the river. It is believed upwards of 20 people have been injured in the incident. It is not known at this time whether or not there are any fatalities.
Heavy lifting equipment has been moved onto the area to try and clear the cranes away before the search for victims begins.
