Residents in rural areas of Co. Tipperary have reported several sightings of what they believe are surveillance drones used by gangs to keep tabs on their properties. At least some of the drones appear to be fitted out with night-vision equipment, according to witnesses.
A number of farmers located in Littleton and Two Mile Borris have reported seeing the machines flying at night. Farmers and business owners have also express their willingness to shoot the drones down on sight, as they suspect they are being used for the purpose of crime.
The drone activity has been reported to Gardai.
