Dáil passes motion that will see Ireland take in over 200 children from Calais migrant camp




In the past couple of hours the Dáil has agreed to an all-party motion that will see Ireland to taking in 200 children from the former Calais migrant camp this France.

It is understood Ireland will now take in a high number of migrant children who wish to come here. The motion was overwhelmingly passed on Thursday afternoon after Tánaiste Frances Fitzgerald submitted the motion before the Dáil.

The move comes after the French government had dismantled the Calais refugee camp, moving 1,500 children to other areas in France.
