It has just been confirmed that the Dáil have approved the sale of the national airline carrier Aer Lingus in an unanimous vote this afternoon.

It is understood that TD’s voted 74 to 51 in favour of the sale. The only sitting TD who decided to abstain from voting was Michael McNamara of the Labour party.

The sale has come after wide spread controversy regarding the potential number of job losses at the airliner. Many opposition TD’s have heavily criticized the governments decision to sell the airline with many labeling the decision as cowardly and wrong.
