According to reports this morning the suicide prevention charity Console currently at the centre of a national scandal could be officially closed down within the next week.
It is understood the charity is on it’s last legs with funds quickly running out with no one willing to back the charity. The Government and the Health Service Executive (HSE) have claimed the charity is all but doomed given the fact that its reputation is damaged beyond repair.
Although both have stressed the services offered by Console will not be affected and the helpline amongst other services will continue.
