Darts fairytale victory: Forty to one outsider Mensur Suljovic pulls off a shock to win Champions League Crown

Dublin may have won the All Ireland Football Championship this afternoon, but sport seen yet another remarkable moment this evening as Mensur Suljovic won the Champions League of Darts in Cardiff.

Suljovic who was a 40/1 outsider to win the tournament before a dart was thrown this weekend pulled a major coup by defeating the sports greatest along the way.

The Austrian who beat Gary Anderson, Peter Wright, Dave Chisnal and Raymond Van Barnaveld to set up final showdown with Anderson this evening put his name in the history books and beat the Two time world champion Scotsman Anderson 11 legs to 9.

Although the plucky Austrian believed he couldn’t win the title he amazingly pulled off an amazing triumph to prove fairytale victories can happen.
