John Delaney, arguably the face of the FAI, came out swinging in today’s Oireachtas meeting.
He was heavily questioned about why he loaned €100,000 to the FAI, but legally, he was exempt from answering most of the questions.
John Delaney advised that he had received legal advice and that he was precluded from answering various questions, something that is completely legitimate and the likes of Sinn Fein’s Imelda Munster had to stomach.
Fergus O’Dowd appeared to play on every side of the fence declaring that it was nothing personal but that people wanted a change at FAI official level.
Meanwhile John Delaney received praise from Michael Healy-Rae who welcomed him down to Kerry to open a football pitch.
