Department of Foreign Affairs confirms that a further €3m will be allocated for the Syrian refugee crisis




The Department of Foreign Affairs have confirmed that they allocated €3m in funding to support Syrian refugees who have fled the civil war.

The news announcement comes ahead of the Junior minister Joe McHugh’s is visit to the region later this week.

The Department have also revealed that they spent €70m on humanitarian aid over the past five years.

It is also understood thar Mr McHugh will meet with the 336 Irish soldiers currently serving with the United Nations’ Unifil peacekeeping force.
