The Department of Foreign Affairs has issued a warning for holidaymakers intending to travel to Turkey.
Travelers are advised to expect disruption to services as people go to the polls in the country. Also, holidaymakers are strongly advised to avoid crowded areas, demonstrations, and gatherings of people who may be protesting against political change.
The department would like to remind Irish citizens that a state of emergency remains active in Turkey since a failed coup two years ago.
