Department of Foreign Affairs spent €360,000 of Irish taxpayers money on luxury new cars in 2020 for exotic locations like Texas, Buenos Aires, Jakarta and Uganda




The Department of Foreign Affairs spent €360,000 of Irish taxpayers money on luxury new cars and motorcycles in 2020 reports the Irish Examiner.

A Toyota Highlander costing €40,738 was purchased for the consulate in Austin Texas and a Lexus costing €38.078 was purchased for a new “mission” in Los Angeles.

Meanwhile, a Toyota SW4 was purchased for the Embassy in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The city of Brasilia in Brazil received a luxury BMW X3 jeep costing €36,914 for Ireland Ambassador for this country.

Other vehicles were purchased for Jakarta, Amman, Cairo, Sierra Leone and Uganda.
