The Department of Health have confirmed that there has been a Covid-19 outbreak on a ward at Regional Hospital Mulingar.
It is understood that a number of patients on the ward have tested positive for the virus.
The Department of Health say Health Protection Surveillance Centre guidelines will be followed and there will be no admissions or discharging of patients on the ward.
Meanwhile it is understood that staff who have been identified as close contacts will be required to self isolate.
