Devastated Ed Sheeran fan warns others after she’s forced to sell her car to pay ticket touting website which “ripped her off” €1,500 for concert tickets

21-yr-old Charlotte Duckworth from Manchester said she is devastated after ticket touting website Viagogo charged her £1,300 to attend Ed Sheeran in Mancherter.

The young woman said she thought she was paying £440 for all three tickets for her and friends on the ticketing website, but she ended up paying £291 per ticket with a whopping £280 booking fee and a further £87 in delivery and VAT charges, totally £1,300 of just over €1,500.

The phone shop worker said she only realised what happened when she got the confirmation. She said she’s going to have to sell her car and move back in with her parents to try and pay off the bill.

She has made attempts to cancel the payment and even tried to get in touch with Ed Sheeran herself.

Charlotte told the Manchester Evening News:
“After a horrible year last year all I wanted was to start this year off with a bang and see my idol. Instead I’m now in £1,329.41 worth of debt.

“I was rushing to buy the tickets because when your putting your details in lots of pop ups come on the screen saying there’s 20 people waiting for these tickets. You’re also being timed.

“I thought I had paid £377 for all three tickets. Turns out that was per ticket as well as a large booking fee.

“I have tried everything to get my money back from Viagogo but they have refused and I feel like I have been misled into buying over priced tickets.

“I had never heard of Viagogo before and didn’t realise they could do this.”

She added: “This has caused me severe financial problems and I may have to move back home or sell my car to cover the costs, as i haven’t got that kind of money.

“I really want to spread the word so others don’t make this mistake and end up in a mess like myself.”
